Rocke & Nutter, a stylish new home and fashion accessories brand inspired by the timeless allure of North Cornish Coastal life, today announced the launch of their online store. Founded by Sophie Mason and Jay McInnes, the brand focuses on design-led, locally-sourced and ethically produced products.

The store's inspiring range of gorgeous homewares aims to promote the work of the finest Cornish craftspeople - such as the handmade steam-bent lighting of Tom Raffield and the seascape-inspired ceramics of Charlotte Jones. The hunt for hand-made treasures has also led Rocke & Nutter further afield, to Ireland for the wool felt creations of Jamie Lewis and Paris for designer Nadia Dafri's stunning cut glass jewellery. The store also caters for beach-loving 'Little Nutters', with a range of animal-print wetsuits for children.

"There's a freshness, a vibe and a purity about life on the North Cornish Coast that we love," says Sophie. "We're two friends who have come together through our love of this part of the world and a shared belief that what we put into our homes should be considered and special. We're both busy mums with backgrounds in fashion and interiors and our website strives to provide that thrill of finding an 'amazing little shop' that's such a treat to discover on your holiday."

Lighting design

The brand is heavily focused on sustainability - all items are Fairtrade - and is dedicated to sourcing goods that would be hard to find anywhere else. For those who love the coastal lifestyle and want to capture the essence of it in their home, Rocke & Nutter has an eye for that special something. Many of the products preserve the inherent historical beauty of salvaged materials - from cushions made from old sail fabric to recycled glass display bottles.

Painter Mark Preston has been drawn to the rugged, dramatic coastline between St Ives and Lands End since he was a fine art student in the 1990s. For the past year, Mark’s work has focused on capturing the beauty of the land and sea of West Cornwall throughout the four seasons. This exhibition of forty works, showing from the 6th to 21st September 2013, explores the Duchy in all its glory; sun, rain, storms, spring flowers, winter seas, enticing beaches and wild landscapes. We are of slowly emerging out of winter, March is here, but for this month's blog post I wanted to revisit a special weekend last November at Marazion. It has to be one of the most magical places in Cornwall, an adorable village with a famous view that is ever changing as well as being ancient and immovable. A dear friend took me off to the lovely Godolphin Hotel for a weekend treat, and it really was perfect. The beauty of the colder months in Cornwall is the quietness, and it was just that, still, poignant and memorable. As you arrive in this little village, all attention centres on the island castle across the bay, and rightly so. The hotel itself is little but stylish, has a laid back charm and a playful feel. The kindest of people, they upgraded our room to one with a balcony and that fabulous view.
