Copper and Bronze at the Whitewater Gallery

As autumn is making its presence know, Whitewater Gallery presents the 'Copper and Bronze' exhibition. This contemporary gallery can be found both in Polzeath and Port Isaac, on the rugged North Cornish coast. For their latest exhibition you can find exquisite copper plate etching and bronze sculpture by three of Cornwall's leading artists; Sally Spens, Sarah Seddon and Chris Buck. Printmaker Sally Spens studied Fine Art and Textiles at Goldsmiths College, and her hand printed fabric designs are included in the Victoria & Albert Museum's prestigious 20th Century Design Collection. Her delicate hand-printed etchings, are inspired by the patterns and forms of nature and have a rhythmic quality. She shows her designer's eye for line and composition. Sarah Seddon studied Fine Art at University College, Falmouth. Her work is highly figurative, etchings and aquatints of people, places, and found objects. What gorgeous weather England is having at the moment! Granted in Cornwall we are enjoying our sun with a healthy dose of rain but the summer so far doesn't disappoint. Heading to the coast is always appealing in the heat and in Cornwall no place inland is more than 20 miles from the sea. We have 400 miles of beautiful coastline and no less than 150 miles is marked as Heritage Coast. So with that in mind you can gaze at amazing views, walk the rewarding Southwest Coastal Path, sunbathe or get in the water and have some fun. There are many safe sandy beaches that are perfect for surfing, near us we have Polzeath where you can learn surf or paddle board under the watchful eye of a surf school like Wavehunters. Wavehunters is great for both locals and holiday makers as they have fully trained staff that can take groups or individuals out on the waves and also provide the equipment.
