7 of the Best Places in Cornwall for a Roast Dinner
Well October is here and I am definitely feeling all the Autumn feels. Golden leafy walks, stunning sunsets and the nip in the air which has me reaching for my favourite jumpers. Today though, I have Yorkshires on my mind, that and glazed carrots, cauliflower cheese and the British staple that is a Sunday roast.
So where is best to head in Cornwall for such a treat? These are a few places where I would book to secure a seasonal feast this weekend.
A roast here is truly something to write home about. Nestled in a little Cornish village, St Kew is a firm favourite with visiting foodies and locals alike. You can taste the quality of the ingredients, and the vegetarian option is tempting even for a carnivore like me. Award winning too!
2) The Peterville Inn, St Agnes
On the pricer end but a very popular choice in the coastal village of St Agnes. The produce is local, seasonal and the puddings are crowd pleasers too.
3) The Summerhouse, Perranporth
For laid back vibes and a cracking view, The Summerhouse in Perranporth is on our list. You need to book in advance but it's worth it, those Yorkshires!
Gorgeous roasts, with tasty extras, you can even get a side of pie! Lovely laid back vibe as well.
For a real Cornish treat, Paul Ainsworth's The Mariners at Rock is worthy of a place on our list. Stunning food with real provenance.
6) Roskilly's Farm, The Lizard
Perhaps more known for their ice cream than roasts, but the restaurant on Roskilly's farm is turning out to be a popular spot on the Lizard for a Sunday gathering. Delicious and mostly from the farm itself. A great option for families.
7) Cutty Sark at the Marazion Hotel
This one makes our list for a few reasons, great location (who doesn't love a walk round St Micheal's Mount?) Generous portions with rave reviews and great at catering for dietary requirements.
