The Charming Village of Pentewan - and Beyond!

Cycle to Mevagissey

I am completely loving this Spring weather! It was a really lovely Easter weekend in Cornwall, and as the holidays roll on the sun is still smiling on us.

Pentewan Valley Cycle Hire

One of the best ways to enjoy the landscape is definitely by bike, we have lots of trails all over the county that make use of the disused railway lines or tram ways. A place I want to explore more is the Pentewan valley, it always looks so inviting when I drive past the cyclists below peddling along the pretty river, it is actually really ideally located for cycle hire in Cornwall

Pentewan itself is a lovely little village, two cafes that provide delicious ice cream and gorgeous cakes. The pub as well is always popular and looks the perfect spot for a cool shandy on a sunny day, watching the ducks in the pond.

At the holiday park you have Hubbox, such a yummy burger bar that I often return to with friends. Right on the beach, you can't beat it for location.

Clay trails cycle hire

The other asset this pretty village has is cycle hire. This tucked away community is actually really well located to visit by trike some diverse Cornish gems. You can head up the valley towards St Austell, on to the Clay Trails where you can cycle off road with stunning sea views. Or head to Mevagissey, the quintessential Cornish harbour filled with quirky independent shops, great food, a museum, aquarium and fishing trips. You can catch a ferry here to Fowey, so enjoy two picturesque harbours in one day!

Cycle to Charlestown

Charlestown Cornwall tall ships

Another favourite place I love to visit is Charlestown, also a great cycle route from Pentewan Cycle Hire. It has so much lovely food, a quirky beach, gorgeous views and the possibility of the odd tall ship. A bit of a star of the silver screen, Charlestown has appeared in so many productions, its the go-to harbour for any period drama!

World famous Eden Project

Other routes include the Lost Gardens of Heligan, wonderfully diverse, I always enjoy a visit here. They have Victorian gardens, orchards and tropical board-walks. And the world famous Eden carries on that theme, biomes that dinosaurs would feel quite at home in.

Cycle electric bike to Heligan

All that accessible from the little sea side village that is Pentewan! Plus, something I love about Pentewan Cycle Hire is that they have electric bikes, which honestly makes Cornish hills so much more inviting.
